 A six strong team of cyclists from Carson McDowell have recently begun a gruelling training regime to prepare them for the 2012 Co-operation Ireland Maracycle. The Maracycle is a physically demanding event that takes place over the weekend of 23rd and 24th June and will see participants setting off from Queen's University P.E. |

 Atlas Communications (NI) Ltd would like to say a big thank you to all staff that contributed and supported their 2011 Charity of the Year, the Mark Pollock Trust.
The trust was set up to support an exceptional man from Holywood, County Down who unfortunately lost his sight at the age of 22 and in 2010, was paralysed due to a devastating accident. For over a decade Mark was known as an inspiration, an adventure athlete competing in the world's harshest environments despite being completely blind. |

NICFC is on the lookout for teams to don their Olympic sportswear and compete in the charity’s Mini Olypmics Challenge on Friday 22nd June at Belfast Harlequins Rugby Club, to help raise money for local children, teenagers and young people living with cancer.

 Northern Ireland football star and TinyLife Patron David Healy MBE, thanked Asidua employees for their ‘Big Impression’ with TinyLife as their efforts helped the IT services company raise £10,140.49 for their current Charity of the Year.
While their name may be tiny, TinyLife, aim to make a ‘Big Impression’ by providing much needed family support services across the province; an aim which the Belfast based data and telecoms integration specialists were delighted to support throughout the past year. |

 International development charity, Christian Aid, has awarded a three year ICT contract to Northgate Managed Services (Northgate) to upgrade and manage its PC estate. Christian Aid’s investment of over £500k in this new IT solution is set to deliver efficiencies and provide an improved and consistent service enabling the organisation to focus on its vital fundraising activities. The contract award, testament to a highly cost-effective, quality service at a predictable, flexible revenue cost, further strengthens Northgate’s position in the Third Sector. |

 Employees from worldwide data integration and embedded telecoms specialists Asidua, outshone the competition once again as their team scooped the Addiction NI ‘Fastest Workplace Award’.
In treating over 2,000 people throughout Northern Ireland each year, Addiction NI’s mission is to provide professionally delivered treatment and support options to people affected by addiction in a way which promotes easy access, equality and inclusion.
To help raise awareness and essential supporting funds, the local charity organised the ‘Addiction NI 10K Run’, taking place along Belfast’s scenic Lagan Embankment on March 11th. |

 A team of four from Mformation Technologies, the leading global provider of mobile device management (MDM) technology, recently participated in the ‘Addiction NI’ 10K Race on Sunday 11th March 2012, which started on the Ormeau Embankment and through the Ormeau Park.
The race was organised by Addiction NI to raise as much money as possible to go towards providing treatment, advice and support for those with alcohol or drug problems (the demand for the treatment and advice services of Addiction NI has doubled in the last five years and fundraising events like the 10K race help to highlight the growing issue of addiction in Northern Ireland).

 Employees from Allstate’s Belfast Office were delighted to present 2 cheques for £19,260 to the MRI Scanner Appeal and to Cancer Research UK, their designated charities in 2011.
From beard growing, badminton and football competitions, competing in the marathon to more sedate coffee mornings and contributions via the Give as You Earn scheme, Allstate’s charity committee engaged as many employees as possible to raise much needed funds.

 Eight of Northern Ireland’s leading companies have collectively raised an impressive £130,000 for The Prince’s Trust through its Million Makers Challenge to help turn around the lives of disadvantaged young people in Northern Ireland.
With initial seed funding from The Prince’s Trust, the eight finalists competed against each other to run the most profitable mini enterprise over the past six months.
Allstate, BNI, Hewlett Packard, Marks and Spencer, Northgate Managed Services, Parker Green International, Shredbank and Tughans undertook a wide range of activities including sales from a calendar featuring the Ulster Rugby Team, a white collar boxing event, sales of specially commissioned fine art and movie premieres to maximise profits to donate to the charity. |

 Atlas Communications (NI) Ltd would like to congratulate four staff, Jenny, Tara, Pauline and Kim on each completely a tandem sky sive on Thursday 15th September in support of our company charity of the year, the Mark Pollock Trust. The trust has been set up to support an exceptional man who unfortunately lost his sight at the age of 22 and in 2010, was paralysed due to a devastating accident.
The girls jumped from 13,000 feet, with a 40 second freefall, dropping to 6,000 feet before the parachute opened. |

 Last Saturday, 10th September welcomed the country’s first ever Team Dodgeball Championships when PlayBall at the Stormont Pavilion was taken over by some very keen dodgeballers from the Northern Ireland Business Community, all in aid of charity Mencap.
Over 16 teams came together with the ICT Industry represented by teams from Allstate, NiSoft, Ignition Team and Openwave. After a great pre-game warm up and brief of the rules from members of the UK Dodgeball Association, the fun began! |

 More than 150 businesswomen from across Northern Ireland attended the Women In Business’ NI Business Forum 2011 held in Belfast recently. The event, sponsored by Invest Northern Ireland, McNeill Travel and Stranmillis College, gave delegates a chance to hear from some of Northern Ireland’s top businesswomen, who spoke of their individual paths to success in business, and to participate in discussion and networking sessions.
Speakers included Aislinn Rice, sales director of global hi-tech firm Andor Technologies, Grainne Kelly, inventor of the ‘Bubblebum’ child safety seat, and Alyson Hogg, founder of beauty brand Vita Liberata. |

The NSPCC has awarded a five year ICT contract to Newtownabbey based Northgate Managed Services (Northgate) for the provision of an ICT managed service. Northgate will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing a state of the art, resilient IT infrastructure supporting more than 2000 users in 130 locations across the UK, improving the quality of service to NSPCC staff and reducing costs. 25 new jobs will be created at Northgate as a direct result of the NSPCC contract. |
