NIE, Northern Ireland’s Electricity Network Company has launched a brand new website and for the very first time a mobile site for 2012. The sites, designed, developed and hosted by Tibus were constructed with the end user very much at the forefront of the project. NIE wanted to ensure their new site was customer focused.

The leading Belfast based IT and Communications company, Leaf, has been appointed as Apple Network Consultants for Northern Ireland. Leaf is now registered and certified as part of the UK Apple Consultants Network and will work in conjunction with the Apple store, Channel and other Resellers to assist its Northern Ireland business customers.

 

The Apple Consultants Network features a community of professional service providers and consultants that specialise in Apple and third-party solutions.

Technology is only part of the reason why the cloud is taking off. Ed Hoppitt, global principal architect in BT, described the circumstances that have made it happen as a “perfect storm”, with the recession playing a big part.

 

“If the global economic crisis had not happened around the same time that virtualisation took off, I don’t think we would see the landscape that we see today” he said, singling out VMware’s pioneering virtual machines as a major factor.

Belfast IT Company, CMI has today announced plans to launch its own cloud offering to the market place. The new cloud offering will work alongside the companies traditional IT services to provide businesses with a choice of on premise, in cloud or Hybrid IT Infrastructure.

A UK Company was formed in 2003 to develop Policy Management Software for customer’s needs that would later become described as Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC). This company was called Metacompliance and its vision of making compliance easier for organisations in the Public and Private sector was to prove attractive to the market as Legislative and Regulatory requirements began to become increasingly part of everyday norms.

 

The company’s focus on providing its clients with cost effective “commercial off the shelf” compliance software has been recently validated by the findings in a report published by Boston- based Industry Analysts, Hypatia Research.

Belfast’s leading IT Company, CMI helped bring the world renowned Lyric Theatre back to life as part of a multi-million pound project which saw the newly refurbished and extended venue open its doors to the public earlier this year.

 

Following a three year project, the landmark building, not only showcases the design and construction talent in Northern Ireland but also harnesses the latest in technology.

 

As part of the project, CMI designed and implemented a new IT infrastructure, installed a comprehensive wireless system - including a unique ticketing system for public wireless internet access which has the ability to display advertising on the back of every ticket printed, supplied new servers, equipment and supported a number of other areas in the Theatre including telephone, building control and advertising systems which are all part of the advanced computer network.
