    We have established a new Digital unit in Belfast to drive the digital agenda to become truly digital. Being part of this unit is a unique opportunity to work with technology and startup engagements in a non-traditional banking set-up characterised by high pace, agile development, flat hierarchy, and customer-centric approach.

     

    What YouWill Do

    As a Startup Engagement Lead you will be responsible for the following amongst other duties:

    • Danske Bank UK’s front person in the growth startup community in NI and you will take the lead on the Bank’s startup engagements.

    • Lead, implement and manage the growth startup engagement strategy with conceptualisation and execution of key initiatives.

    • Identify, engage and manage potential partnerships and other stakeholders in the growth startup community with alignment to our core values, thereby ensuring fair treatment of all.

    • Ensure effective project initiation, management and follow-up and reporting to the executive committee.

    • Craft proposals for key digital and strategic projects to enhance the Bank’s digital value proposition in the growth startup community and build exceptional customer experiences.

    • Collaborate closely with colleagues at all levels, particularly in the new Digital unit, Executive Committee, Business Development, Strategy, Marketing, and IT across the Danske Bank Group.

    • Travelling on a monthly basis - working from any Danske Bank location in the UK, Nordics and Eastern Europe while also attending conferences in US and Asia.

     

    In essence, your main responsibilities will be to develop and execute startup engagements, digital strategies, and initiatives in close collaboration with colleagues across tech and business domains.

     

    About You

    You should be able to demonstrate the following:

    Qualifications

    Essential:

    • Completed a 3rd level qualification (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or equivalent

    Preferred:

    • Completed a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or equivalent degree

    • Certified Project Manager from PRINCE2, IPMA, PMI, or equivalent certification or training

     

    Experience

    Essential:

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in innovation management or digital strategy, or in or with a startup

    • Identifying and managing partnerships with startups, suppliers, vendors, or other external parties

    • Successfully managed the implementation and execution of projects or strategic initiatives

    • Insight into the growth startup community in NI

    • Understanding of digital trends and emerging technologies, and how these can be translated into business opportunities and actual solutions

    • Previous experience in Presenting and speaking in public (ideally within the startup community)

     

    Preferred:

    • Have an insight into the FinTech ecosystem in NI

    • Understanding of financial services/banking products, services, and legal/regulatory requirements • Ability to analyse, produce and assess information and presentations for strategic decisionmaking • Experience of managing customer journey or customer experience initiative(s)

    Your Hours of Work & Salary

    Hours of work will be 35 hours per calendar week. These hours may be averaged over a longer reference period in accordance with the needs of the business, and may include working on Sunday.

    In the first instance your hours will be arranged between 8.00am and 8.00pm Monday to Saturday. These are the Bank's normal hours of work. You may be required to work additional hours as the needs of the Bank demand.

    You will be based in Belfast. However, regular travels within Europe and to US and Asia must be expected.

    Salary Range: Starting salary £33, 000, or higher depending on relevant experience for the role.

    A 6 month probationary period applies in this role.
