Collaboration brings real-time traceability, compliance and cold-chain assurance to one of Europe’s most regulated freight corridors.
Banbridge-based technology company ubloquity has announced a new collaboration with pharmaceutical logistics specialist Trans-Bridge Freight Services Ltd, aimed at digitising and strengthening temperature-controlled shipments between Great Britain and the island of Ireland.
The partnership will see Trans-Bridge deploy ubloquity’s ubiNex platform to enhance visibility, compliance and security across its pharmaceutical cold-chain operations, one of the most complex and highly regulated logistics environments worldwide.
Pharmaceutical distribution across the Irish Sea has become increasingly challenging, with regulatory requirements, including those of the Windsor Framework, placing greater demands on documentation, auditability, and compliance. At the same time, the need to protect product efficacy and patient safety requires operators to maintain strict temperature control and end-to-end visibility throughout every shipment.

Through this collaboration, Trans-Bridge is using the platform to unify previously fragmented logistics data, such as temperature monitoring, GPS tracking, consignment authentication, and documentation, into a single secure, real-time system.
The innovative platform creates a tamper-evident digital record of each shipment, ensuring that all authorised stakeholders, from shippers to regulators, can access a single, trusted version of the ‘truth’, thereby enabling faster border processes, reduced administrative burden, and improved compliance in GDP-regulated supply chains.
Kieran Kelly, CEO of ubloquity, said:
“Digital infrastructure can solve some of the most complex challenges in global supply chains. By bringing together authentication, real-time tracking, and compliance into a single platform, we’re enabling Trans-Bridge to move critical pharmaceutical products with greater certainty, transparency and efficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.”
Brian Anderton, Director at Trans-Bridge Freight Services Ltd said:
“As a key player in the pharmaceutical logistics sphere, particularly between GB and the Island of Ireland, we have five key pillars of responsibility to our pharma and healthcare clients: regulatory compliance, product efficacy, patient safety, ESG and security.
“The ubiNex platform supports our operation in all these responsibilities by combining hi-tech security, temperature visibility, GPS traceability and document control in one centralised dashboard. Visibility to all trusted parties in our network gives immediate access to trusted information, reducing delays and assuring the highest compliance.”
Since implementing the platform, Trans-Bridge has been able to:
The deployment builds on ubloquity’s wider Secure Freight initiative, which has already supported more than 1,700 cross-border journeys and facilitated the movement of over £180 million of goods.
