AIB NI has launched its next ‘Let's Talk Business’ Coffee Break Briefing, with an upcoming webinar focused on cyber security and fraud prevention, a key priority for the bank.
Recent data from the NI Cyber Security Centre found that cyber threats remain a significant concern for local organisations, with 50% of businesses experiencing a cyber security breach or attack.
Taking place on Monday 14 September, the free 30-minute session, designed to fit around busy schedules, will see AIB specialists share practical guidance on recognising scams, reducing cyber risk and responding to emerging threats facing businesses.
Hosted by AIB's Cyber Security & Fraud Awareness Team, Audrey Doherty and John Haren, the webinar will explore common threats including fraudulent emails, text messages and phone calls, known as phishing, smishing and vishing, as well as invoice redirection fraud and emerging cyber risks linked to the growing use of AI.
Attendees will gain practical advice on recognising warning signs, understanding how fraudsters target organisations and taking steps to better protect their business. The briefing will also signpost participants to further support and resources where needed.
While delivered online, the briefings complement AIB NI's ongoing local engagement with businesses, providing access to specialist expertise alongside support from local teams.

"Cyber security is a key priority for AIB NI. Following the positive response to our first Coffee Break Briefing in June, we're continuing the series with a second session focused on helping businesses understand and respond to emerging cyber and fraud risks.
"Recent fraud intelligence has recorded a significant rise in convincing text messages and phone calls from criminals impersonating trusted organisations. Fraud attempts and online threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated, making awareness and preparedness more important than ever. This session will provide practical guidance from our specialist team to help participants better understand the risks and take steps to protect themselves."
