Kainos, the UK technology unicorn, today announced the launch of Actonomy, a new AI product business dedicated to unlocking the transformative potential of AI for enterprises.
AI is already changing how individuals work, but personal productivity is only the beginning. The most significant opportunity lies in deploying AI across departments and organisations, where it can improve critical decisions, transform services and deliver significant commercial outcomes at scale. Yet an estimated 95% of AI pilots never reach production, leaving much of that value locked away.
Actonomy specialises exclusively in production AI. It is built on Kainos’ experience of delivering hundreds of scaled enterprise AI deployments over the past decade, spanning machine learning, generative AI and now agentic AI.

Actonomy has packaged the hard-won lessons, proven orchestration approaches and technical IP developed through those deployments into a platform that makes production AI quicker and more repeatable to deploy. Built on Microsoft and Anthropic, with flexible deployment across cloud and local NVIDIA infrastructure, the platform includes proprietary small language models for domain-specific tasks and high-quality evaluations to assess accuracy and reliability. It has reduced the time required to deploy
AI into production by up to 75%, helping organisations realise value faster and at a lower long-term cost.
Actonomy operates with lean Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) teams who work directly with customers to embed the platform into critical business processes, accelerating time to value while reducing delivery risk.
The business starts with four signed enterprise customers following its soft launch in July.
Early customer deployments are tackling high-value operational outcomes. These include a UK specialist lender targeting a reduction in non-performing loans across a multi-million-account portfolio, and a leading UK water utility unlocking AI-driven efficiencies within £40 million of operational spend.
Ruth McGuinness, CEO of Actonomy, said:
“We believe AI will deliver transformative impact in the enterprise. We've seen widespread adoption of AI for personal productivity, but far fewer examples of AI creating meaningful value at departmental and organisational scale. That's the challenge Actonomy exists to solve.”
“The combination of our platform approach, refined over many years and supported by our experienced FDEs, gives us a unique edge in unlocking that AI impact for clients”.

Brendan Mooney, CEO of Kainos, said:
“AI will be the most significant technology shift of our generation. Kainos has been a leader in delivering AI solutions to clients for a decade, having invested across our people, our technology and our customer engagements. Actonomy is the next logical step of that journey.
“By bringing together a platform and deep AI engineering expertise, Actonomy gives us a focused way to help organisations capture greater value from AI. The early market response gives us confidence that we are addressing an important and growing need.”
Actonomy launches as Kainos continues to deepen its investment in AI, including joining Cosine's coalition to help shape the UK's first large language model under the UK Government's £500 million Sovereign AI programme. Find out more at https://www.actonomy.ai.
