  Your role in the team

   

  We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer to play key role within the Allstate Canada Broker Enablement global team which comprises members from ANI, Allstate Canada Group (ACG) and ASPL.  The team has responsibility for support and development of a suite of applications supporting the Allstate Canada Broker body.

   

  As Test Engineer, you will support several applications by automating tests using Selenium and xFramium and support Web APIs in an Agile and CI/CD environment.

   

  You will play a key role in planning, implementing, executing all aspects of Quality Engineering within the Product Suite and will be expected to work closely with developer counterparts and stakeholders (both internal & external) in Canada to ensure requirements are implemented accurately.

   

  The role requires hands-on QE expertise, ability to take initiative and evolve existing QE processes. The right candidate should possess excellent communication skills and be able to translate their analysis of test requirements, prioritization, test methodology and automation objectives into an actionable plan.

   

  The team aligns to the Agile Scrum methodology.

   

  • Work effectively with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Technical Lead, Business Stakeholders and other technology teams in order to achieve success within the agile delivery framework
  • Active participation in the Agile regular meetings: daily standups, planning meetings, demos and retrospectives
  • Contribute to story planning, refinement and estimation
  • Review functional and technical requirements to identify and mitigate any gaps in the testing process/approach
  • Facilitate the scrum team to ensure all facets of software product testing is accomplished within the agreed timelines
  • Identify and flag any dependencies/risks/concerns ahead of time
  • Enhance automation landscape within the Product Suite
  • Perform variety of testing approaches including exploratory, manual, automated and regression
  • Delivery of high-quality documentation as required
  • General support of fully integrated, highly available production environments
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing application and environmental issues
  • Partner with engineering team to stay informed of new technologies being introduced and to ensure that system components are designed for testability

   

   

  So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

   

  • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Test Engineer role
  • Experience writing test automation scrips using Selenium and / or xFramium
  • Experience of Manual Front End Functional Web testing for a small element of manual test work
  • Good problem solving and communication skills 

   

   

  We also have some desirable criteria

   

  • Experience of Python, Java or similar object-oriented programming language
  • Experience of ReadyAPI or similar API testing tools
  • Experience working in Agile (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, XP) environments
  • Have experience working in a global team
  • Experience of:

  • Jenkins CI/CD
  • Github
  • Jira/Zephyr
  • Plus/RTM
