    Allstate Technology and Strategic Ventures (ATSV) Finance supports the senior leadership of ATSV by providing financial analysis and consulting focusing on expense management. This position involves working closely with the senior management teams of this organization in controlling one of the largest expense areas in Allstate. Analysts provide meaningful analysis on the drivers of expense and provide consulting on courses of action to ensure optimal expense control. Analysis includes technology and operational metrics, resource sourcing options, project delivery metrics, and benchmarking.

     

    Activities include historical trending reporting and analysis and future forecasting and planning.

     

    • Lead and direct daily execution of analysis and communication of financial results, development of compelling storylines and formulation of financial projections for key products, markets and initiatives
    • Facilitate achievement of business objectives with guidance from the Director and other leaders; while managing multiple deadlines, accountabilities, and competing priorities
    • Build financial team excellence, developing analysts’ technical financial acumen and understanding of the business to position them for rotation and career advancement
    • Ensure ATSV Finance’ credibility and reputation of high quality (accurate, timely, relevant) financial measurement, reporting, planning and consulting
    • Lead cross functional teams, assisting Business Unit leaders and stakeholders in a consultative manner and identifying needs in the areas of forecasting, planning, strategic planning, measurement, business case development, capital management and internal controls
    • Build and develop clear and concise executive summaries to help leaders understand results, and anticipate/ understand challenges and opportunities for their business
    • Prepare the strategic and operating plans for the Business Unit and utilize forecast updates to impact/guide management decisions
    • Lead team members to ensure team efficiency and effectiveness (e.g., conflict/problem resolution, process/system improvements, resource procurement, supportive environment)
    • Maximize talent through consistent and effective use of the department’s talent management strategy

     

    So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

     

    • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
    • A degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Accountancy, or similar discipline,
    • High-level of knowledge of general corporate finance
    • Demonstrated depth of financial and analytical expertise Knowledge of accounting principles
    • Experience as a business consultant in a finance related field – builds relationships with clients while offering analysis and recommending corrective actions based on emerging trends

     

    The successful candidate must also demonstrate a high competency in:

     

    • Advanced knowledge and the ability to use the concepts, techniques, and issues involved in planning projects and processes
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities including look-up formulas and pivot tables
    • Having a logical and analytical approach.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to communicate well, build relationships and work as part of a team.
    • Familiar with Microsoft Office and the ability to analyze, manipulate, and interpret large amounts of data.  Microsoft Access a plus.
    • Good problem solving skills with an attention to detail.

    • Experience in presenting to, working with Senior Leadership on expense management, control and improvement
    • An improvement mindset, continually seeking ways to drive improvements and manage costs effectively
